Château de Chenonceau
From the old keep to the remains of the fortified medieval mill to the garden of Diane de Poitiers (who became chatelaine in 1547), you can rediscover the Renaissance and the Grand Siècle in another way. You will walk in the footsteps of Voltaire, Marivaux, Montesquieu, Buffon and Rousseau, before perhaps returning to your personal iPod to continue with music all the way to the restaurant at the Orangerie.
Puy Du Fou
A medieval theme park for all ages where during the day the amphitheatre stages perhaps the most extravagant of all the Son et Lumiere shows. Tickets can be bought in two parts to enable guests to visit the chateau, water theatre, 18th century village, arboretum, wolves lair and falconry show by day and perhaps return another day for the spectacular Cinescenie, English translation headsets can be hired for the spectacular.
Zoo de Doué-la-Fontaine
The zoo at Doue is quite unique, housing some 500 animals amongst the abundant vegetation and utilising some of the caves, sand quarries, lime furnaces and cathedral caverns to be found on the site. The roman amphitheatre often stages theatrical and musical events throughout the summer.
Saumur

The town is affectionately known as the kingdom of the horse and is therefore naturally best known for equestrian connections. Saumur has horse and cavalry museums and is home to the celebrated Cadre Noir at the National Riding Academy with the largest riding arena in Europe. There are guided tours each day, with visits to the stables and training sessions being very popular.
There is also the Musee des Blindes, the largest tank museum in Europe, the Musee du Moteur at Bagneaux and of course the Chateau which is well worth the visit if only to take in the views from the ramparts or sample the delightful café.
Wines and caves are also in abundance in and around Saumur, and the town produces no less than 80% of the total output of mushrooms in France from within the Tufa caves. Le Musee du Champignon grows wild and cultivated mushrooms, exploration takes about 1 hour 30 minutes with up to 500 species of mushrooms learn about. Then try a visit to the restaurant ‘La Troglodyte’ for the tasting !
Futuroscope

Boca Speed - Karting Track
There is an International karting circuit within easy drive of the camp site where you can hire a kart from 15 minutes to half a day. The 'International Val d'Argenton Karting Track' is considered to be the best in Europe.
The track is well organised and safety issues fully addressed.
Le Cadre Noir de Saumur
This is the famous crack French Cavalry regiment, who put on many displays and tours throughout the year.
Angers
Angers is the regions major centre for tapestries with the famous Tenture de L’Apocalypse, the oldest of it’s size in the world and housed at the Chateau. Architecture and museums are also a strong feature in Angers, particularly for the fine arts. There are markets at different locations in Angers every day of the week.
